My dog training journey began in 2011 when Yankee came home at eight weeks old. I had never had a dog before. My mom did not want pets in the home and after she passed away unfortunately my dad became a single dad, There just wasn’t enough income to pay for all that came with owning a pet.

When Yankee joined our family, I went into full dog mom mode, but not the snuggles and cuddles dog mom mode, I went into the super strict boundaries and kennel kind of dog mom mode. I knew I wanted to raise a well-behaved dog. Let me just add one thing, I knew by the size of Yankee's paws; he was going to be a big, strong boy, and I really wanted to get him into training right away. Fast forward six months, I signed him up for training classes and took my dad along for the ride. Afterall, I was living at home and we needed to be consistent with him. I will never forget the time when my dad asked if Yankee could stay out of his kennel just once because he felt bad for him. Boy have the times changed.

In 2013 we adopted Yankee's sister Cinder. I put her through the same training as I did Yankee. Their entire life we received compliments daily on their behavior and their manners. We could take them anywhere!

In 2020 Yankee fell ill and passed away. Shortly after, we welcomed Cruz and Stella to our pack. We started training them immediately by implementing the same structure and boundaries.

Not long after they joined our family, the owner of the facility where I trained with our dogs asked me if I wanted to work for them. I said yes, because if you know me, you know I do not pass up an opportunity for a side hustle.

Once I started working there, new doors began to open. I reached out to every person I knew that had a young dog or a puppy, and I immersed myself into helping everyone so I could learn by doing.

I realized there was a whole world of dog training outside the four walls of where I was teaching, and many other tools and techniques to learn.

I connected with other dog trainers near and far and have attended seminars and shadow programs, which has developed my style of training and who I am as a dog trainer.

Keith, my dad, would help and learn along side me and by the end of 2021 our calendar for 2022 was booked. This blessing allowed my dad to retire and join the Twelve18Ten team.

I knew I would own a business someday, but I never imagined that God had this in the works. My journey possible because someone took a chance on me, and owners like you are referring me to your friends and family. I appreciate you very much!
